About this experience
The classic Saharan crossing, done the way nomads still do it. From the last village of M'Hamid you walk beside a camel caravan across the open hamada toward Erg Chigaga, a dune field that rises out of the emptiness west of the road. Each day ends at a quiet bivouac under a sky with no light pollution for hundreds of kilometers. No phone signal, no schedule — just the tread of camels, tea on the fire, and the feel of a pace that has not changed in centuries.
